The four main steps to a podcast and audio interview include finding the anecdote or story, the interview, the recording, and the final edit. It's important to have the main story set so that you can stay on task when conducting the interview. When you go off on irrelevant tangents it will be distracting to the listener and the interviewee. During the interview, it will also help if you have a few open ended questions as well as a few questions that you come up with on the spot to make sure the answers and conversation flow candidly. In the final edits, the flow is important when trying to tell the story so cutting the sound bits up and placing them accordingly is a huge part of the process.
